Magic is one of the most exciting and creative forms of live entertainment. I am always trying to figure out how these seemingly impossible tricks are executed so flawlessly every time. Nonetheless magicians are becoming a dying breed, failing to keep up with rapid social trends and changes in technology. A man named Justin Willman is one of the very few magicians out there who use magic with high tech devices. He has late night talk show called “Sleight of Mouth” that airs on Justin.TV website and another show called Nerdist which can be found on Youtube. He performs majority of his tricks with a digital twist such as predicting tweets, turning a mouse into a real mouse, and tricking the mind with 2-d images on a phone.
“Magic has a stereotype of being dusty and old school, so if I can breathe some new life into it, and make it high tech at the same time, then I’m moving the art form forward.” USA TODAY
If you are interested in magic or practice tricks on your own time, then you should consider integrating technology into your repertoire.
