Honor Societies

Students at Coleman University have the opportunity to join the Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society (ABK) or National Technical Honor Society (NTHS). If you meet the criteria and are accepted, Coleman University will cover your membership fees. All ABK and NTHS members are recognized at the graduation ceremony.

Alpha Beta Kappa Honor Society (ABK)

Alpha Beta Kappa is the "premier national honor society" for America's private postsecondary schools, institutes, colleges and universities. Alpha Beta Kappa places chapters in institutions which have demonstrated high standards over a period of many years in the education and training of women and men in the numerous fields, trades and occupations essential to modern society. The purpose of the Society is to encourage and recognize superior student academic achievement, character, and leadership.

Enrolled in a Graduate program; overall GPA of 3.8 or higher; no absence probation on record; two faculty recommendations; active involvement in student government, civic, or service organization(s) as demonstrated by 300-500 word essay describing activities

National Technical Honor Society (NTHS)

The National Technical Honor Society currently serves approximately 80,000 active members in 2015 and nearly three quarters of a million since its inception in 1984. Over $225,000 in scholarships is awarded annually to its members. NTHS honors the achievements of top CTE students, provides scholarships to encourage the pursuit of higher education, and cultivates excellence in today’s highly competitive, skilled workforce.

Completetion of a minimum of 36 units at Coleman University; overall GPA of 3.8 or higher on a 4.0 scale; no absence probation on record; two faculty recommendations; active involvement in student government, civic, or service organization(s) as demonstrated by 300-500 word essay describing activities.
